Sapien Technology is an Australian Ag-Tech company dedicated to developing innovative information systems that enhance the productivity and sustainability of agriculture. We are expanding our development team for KoolSoftware — our individual animal management system that helps clients make more informed decisions across the supply chain.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer with at least 3 years of experience as a full-stack developer and a solid understanding of CI/CD processes. In this role, you’ll contribute to building responsive, scalable web applications, maintain high code quality through unit testing, and support continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate UI/UX designers to transform design prototypes into high-quality code.
Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and team discussions to foster a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
Communicate effectively with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and project goals.
Provide any necessary 3rd Level support on Sapien products
Assist all parts of the business where necessary within the areas of your technical expertise.
Skills, Technical Requirements:
3 years of professional experience in full-stack development.
Strong proficiency in front-end frameworks and technologies including JavaScript, jQuery, CSS and HTML. React experience an advantage.
Back-end experience using .NET, restful APIs and database systems (SQL and SQL lite)
Comfortable with version control (Git and Azure DevOps)
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, including unit tests and automated tests
Experience with basic DevOps concepts (CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps).
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Well versed in Agile development methodology

Job Title: Data Scientist – Agriculture & Livestock Focus

Job Summary
We are looking for a data-driven professional with a passion for agriculture and livestock to join our team as a Data Scientist. With at least two years of experience in data science and strong proficiency in Power BI, you will play a key role in transforming agricultural data into actionable insights that support operational efficiency, sustainability, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze agricultural and livestock data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to support farm management, production tracking, and resource optimization.
Collaborate with agronomists, veterinarians, and farm managers to understand data needs and deliver tailored insights.
Develop predictive models to forecast yields, animal health outcomes, and supply chain performance.
Clean, transform, and validate data from diverse sources including IoT sensors, farm management systems, and external datasets.
Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
Contribute to the development of data standards and best practices within the agricultural domain.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Agriculture, Animal Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a data science or analytics role.
Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and dashboard development.
Experience with Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
Familiarity with agricultural or livestock production systems and terminology.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with agricultural datasets or livestock health/performance data.
Knowledge of GIS tools or spatial data analysis.
Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and data integration tools.
Understanding of sustainability metrics and environmental data in agriculture.
