Sapien Technology is an Australian Ag‑Tech company dedicated to developing innovative information systems that enhance the productivity and sustainability of agriculture. We are expanding our development team for KoolSoftware — our individual animal management system that helps clients make more informed decisions across the livestock supply chain.
As a Software Engineer at Sapien, you will be an active member of a multidisciplinary, empowered product team, contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of high‑quality software products, cloud services, and modern delivery pipelines.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer with full‑stack development experience, strong software engineering fundamentals, and an understanding of modern DevOps and CI/CD practices. You will work across our front‑end, back‑end, API, and cloud platforms, collaborate closely with product and design teams, and contribute to both discovery and delivery phases of the SDLC.
This role requires a commitment to code quality, continuous improvement, effective communication, and a willingness to support the broader business when required.
Key Responsibilities
Software Design & Development
· Design, implement and maintain Sapien’s software products and services.
· Develop responsive, scalable, and maintainable web applications.
· Build and maintain high‑availability APIs and cloud‑native/serverless platforms.
· Write clean, well‑documented code, including unit tests and automated tests.
· Help implement instrumentation, observability, and analytics across systems.
Engineering & Delivery Practices
· Collaborate with UI/UX designers to convert prototypes into functional front‑end components.
· Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge‑sharing activities.
· Contribute to the design and automation of CI/CD pipelines.
· Adhere to and help evolve Sapien’s technology standards.
· Work across both Discovery and Delivery phases of the SDLC.
Collaboration & Communication
· Work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to explore solutions to new product opportunities.
· Communicate technical concepts effectively to non‑technical audiences.
· Participate in team discussions, estimation sessions, and architectural planning.
· Provide 3rd level support on Sapien products when required.
· Assist other parts of the business where relevant to your technical expertise.
Continuous Improvement
· Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry developments.
· Support the team in continuous improvement initiatives.
· Ensure technology choices align with Sapien’s product and business strategies.
· Contribute to documentation of standards, guidelines, and technical systems.
Required Skills & Experience
· Minimum full‑stack development experience.
· Front‑end skills: JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML (React experience advantageous).
· Back‑end experience with .NET, .NET Core, .NET Framework, RESTful APIs.
· Database experience with SQL (schema, stored procedures) and SQLite.
· Comfortable using Git and Azure DevOps.
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps concepts.
· Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
· Strong communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively.
· Experience working in Agile teams and participating in modern delivery practices.
Desirable (Optional) Skills
· Experience with React or Xamarin MAUI.
· Experience working with cloud‑native or serverless architectures.
· Exposure to analytics, observability, or instrumentation frameworks.
Adaptability & Growth
The Software Engineer is expected to adapt as the business evolves, including taking on new areas of responsibility or letting go of others as our products and processes mature.

Working with renowned strategic marketing consultancy Wingmaven, Sapien has recently developed and validated a comprehensive set of strategic marketing foundations, including brand strategy, customer value proposition for its primary audience, and research into the customer journey. The next phase is to activate these foundations in-market to drive the next stage of growth.
The Opportunity
This is a part-time, hands-on Marketing Manager role (2 days per week / ~15 hours) focused on activating Sapien’s marketing strategy and driving consistent, effective marketing activity.
Reporting into the Head of Sales you will translate strategy into execution across channels.
Given the part-time nature of the role, success will depend on your ability to prioritise effectively, focus on high-impact activity, execute with speed and quality, and proactively manage stakeholder expectations.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, commercially-minded B2B marketer who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and delivering tangible business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Activate Marketing Foundations
Activate Sapien’s brand strategy, customer value proposition, and customer journey insights across all owned, earned and paid channels
Ensure messaging is consistent, clear, and aligned with target customers
Translate strategic direction into practical, effective marketing activity
Lead Generation & Channel Execution
Execute marketing activity to support lead generation and sales outcomes
Test, prioritise, and optimise channels (e.g. digital advertising, social media, website, and industry events)
Improve conversion from website traffic and campaign activity
Website & Messaging
Refresh the website in line with brand positioning, and optimise website messaging and structure
Improve alignment between messaging, customer needs, and conversion pathways
Content & Advocacy
Support development of customer stories, case studies, and advocacy content
Leverage Sapien’s customer base to strengthen brand credibility and engagement/advocacy
Campaign Management & Tools
Plan and deliver campaigns with a consistent execution cadence to drive MQLs
Manage and utilise existing tools and platforms, including:
Pipedrive (CRM)
Google, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn
Website (eg. Squarespace, Wordpress)
Monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness
Collaboration & Feedback Loop
Work closely with the Head of Sales to align marketing with pipeline needs, and ensure MQLs are converted through the sales funnel
Provide feedback on channel and messaging performance to inform continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
Essential
Demonstrated experience in B2B marketing (in-house)
Hands-on experience executing across multiple marketing channels
Solid understanding of lead generation and marketing fundamentals
Experience using marketing tools and platforms (CRM, digital channels, CMS)
Ability to prioritise effectively and focus on high-impact work in a part-time role
Proven ability to execute at pace without compromising quality
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to proactively manage stakeholder expectations
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and content creation
Commercial mindset and understanding of how marketing supports sales outcomes

Job Title: Data Scientist – Agriculture & Livestock Focus - POSITION FILLED

Job Summary
We are looking for a data-driven professional with a passion for agriculture and livestock to join our team as a Data Scientist. With at least two years of experience in data science and strong proficiency in Power BI, you will play a key role in transforming agricultural data into actionable insights that support operational efficiency, sustainability, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze agricultural and livestock data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to support farm management, production tracking, and resource optimization.
Collaborate with agronomists, veterinarians, and farm managers to understand data needs and deliver tailored insights.
Develop predictive models to forecast yields, animal health outcomes, and supply chain performance.
Clean, transform, and validate data from diverse sources including IoT sensors, farm management systems, and external datasets.
Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
Contribute to the development of data standards and best practices within the agricultural domain.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Agriculture, Animal Science, Statistics, or a related field.

Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and dashboard development.
Experience with Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
