koolcompact is an application that communicates directly with the NLIS database via hand-held computer (PDA). The programme captures all mandatory information via a stick reader, and a PDA or internet-enabled device then processes the captured data and sends it through to the NLIS database. It also performs LT and EU checks upon request on animals logged with the NLIS database. The combination of software and device means that immediate NLIS interface is achievable in locations outside the norm, key data can be exchanged easily and the interaction can be managed from the palm of your hand.

koolcompact offers more than just portable compliance. The programme allows a PDA to become a supplementary information gatherer when out in the field. Data can be collected about individual animals anywhere they are being handled thus eliminating the need to equip multiple yards with fixed equipment. These advantages can apply to truck drivers and transporters and assist them with LT compliance. Agents involved in the sale or transfer of livestock can similarly establish the LT compliance status of individual animals prior to finalising the transfer details by animal with the NLIS, all from a field location.
