Hopkins River Beef
Hopkins River Beef use Sapien Technology systems to manage the purchase and sale of feedlot livestock.
The feedlot crush was fitted with an Allflex race reader utilising the existing Trutest scales. koolcollect software records all inductions to the feedlot and all exits. The system monitors the live-weight gain of each animal that passes through the system. Reports are generated that show the animals performance related back to its origin or breed.
Recording data at the feedlot is made simple with the use of a barcode scanner. As each animal enters the crush the RFID and weight is automatically recorded in the system. The animals origin, breed and sex is then recorded using a series of barcodes. The koolcollect system provides audible feedback on all action and the operator is not required to touch the computer at all. He can get on with the business of inducting cattle and just listen to the system record the information.
As with all koolcollect systems this example illustrates the fact that you can have the full power of a computer crush side without the need to need of introducing an extra person to operate it. koolcollect has been designed from the ground up to be used by the same person who is operating the crush. Hopkins River typically induct or exit animals with 1 or 2 people handling the cattle in the yards.
koolcollect simply keeps tracks of what is being done to the animals with minimum effort and fuss.
