Robert Wyld – Managing Director
Robert co-founded Sapien with his wife Clare. He combined his qualification as a mechanical engineer with his passion for computer engineering, and used his family background in beef cattle and Merino sheep as a platform for the new business. His time is split between office-based development with the senior tech team and field-based liaison with the people for whom he develops.
Clare Wyld – Finance & Operations Director
Clare had a successful career in the UK in entertainment production and administration prior to her move to Australia in 2001. In marrying Robert, she changed her focus from live TV to livestock, and now oversees all financial, legal and administrative aspects of Sapien Technology.
Russell Cranston – Projects Manager
Russell is the key interface between the development team and Sapien’s client base. His depth of technical expertise has been gained during the past 10 years working as a development engineer, and he is involved at a senior level with Sapien’s key projects. His family runs a dairy farm in Victoria, and Russell likes to get back there and get his hands dirty as often as he can.
Justin Coates – Senior Software Development Consultant
Justin has 20 years experience in IT across a variety of industries including healthcare, telecommunications, finance and education. His responsibilities range from database design to technical design and requirements, coding and business requirement specifications. According to Justin, he is also the voice of reason in the organisation.
Craig Miller – Software Development Consultant
Craig has been involved in almost all koolsoftware developments at some stage, and brings over 22 years of IT training and experience to the business. Country-born and raised, he is now firmly entrenched in Melbourne life.
Liz Wainewright – Field Services Co-ordinator
Liz has worked for over 20 years in the IT industry in application development, database design and software support roles in enterprises as diverse as aircraft manufacture, transportation and telecommunications. While city-based by day for much of this time, Liz simultaneously lived in the country with her family, running a small commercial beef herd for 14 years with her husband. She now draws on that experience when supporting our clients, working with our software novices and expert operators alike.
Cameron Pearce – IT System and Software Support
Cameron is responsible for maintaining databases, web servers and internal programs, and is involved in both client support and software development. He is a busy man – fortunately his 10 years experience with multiple users and high-volume data means he is equipped to manage a challenging role. Though Cam has no connection to sheep, cattle or the livestock industry prior to joining Sapien, he does enjoy a good steak.
Julia Boyle – Business Support
Julia has a sales and marketing background and has been involved in Sapien since its inception, both as a strategic consultant initially and now in a business support, planning and PR capacity. As a vegetarian, she is definitely the odd one out at Sapien.
